Drainage
French, Perimeter, and Gutter Drains
Surface slot drains for specifically pitched patios. These have a smaller grey or beige drain that is installed level with pavers or concrete these allow us to mitigate any sheeting that comes across a patio, driveway or walkway during rain, storm, or pool use.
Small plastic surface catch basin, for small puddling areas, these offer a larger grate to access the catch basin for cleaning, there small footprint allows us to put these almost anywhere. We often use them on existing landscapes and small locations.
When needed we can connect all your gutters and pipes away from your foundation, gutters are the leading cause of water infiltration into your home. Often time remediating this water requires the piping of these gutters away from the home.
When we encounter larger drainage projects, or where we cannot exit our drainage to daylight we use concrete leach basins, these are very similar to a catch basin, and have solid concrete walls and solid concrete tops. The tops are for access and cleaning out, these basins have open bottoms, we surround the catch basin in stone so that it can drain freely. We use these as a “dry well”. These catch basins offer a point for all drainage to go into, the surrounding stone around the basins will allow any water to freely percolate into the soils. Offering an environmentally safer option than piping to a sewer or roadway drainage. We also install these for many new homes where the towns require it in their site plan for the gutters to drain into. Because storm water management is so important these leach pits work effectively and efficiently for drainage use for years to come.
We also install French drains, a French drain is a trench filled with a perforated pipe and gravel that allows water to drain through gravel into pipe. We take it a step further and surround all the stone like a big sock with fabric, this will keep the drain functioning properly for years to come. This is also referred to as a perimeter drain where a French drain is installed at the base of a home to alleviate any possible drainage issue.
